Ronaldinho, also known as Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, began his professional soccer career with Brazilian club Grmio. He played for the team from 1998 to 2001, during which time he won the Copa Libertadores and the Intercontinental Cup. He also helped Grmio win the Campeonato Gacho twice, and was twice named the best player in the league. During his time at Grmio, Ronaldinho established himself as one of the most exciting and skillful young players in Brazil, and attracted the attention of some of the biggest clubs in Europe. He then moved to PSG and later to FC Barcelona which is where he won multiple Champions League and many individual awards.
